Underrated, Underestimated, and Misunderstood.
On this website, I will defend citizen journalism against its many censurers. Media critics have been known to claim that citizen journalists are overly-opinionated, or not credible or skilled enough, but ultimately these claims fall short and do not prevent citizen journalism from the possibility of playing important roles in media, to be discussed further on. For the professional journalist, this is not cause for alarm, but for the opportunity of cooperation. As I will explain, citizen journalism will not extinguish the professional journalist; professionals will remain an essential part of journalism. However, professionals must realize that citizen journalism is not unsubstantial and could in fact be a future partner to traditional journalism.
